  • What if I don't know my car's model year?

If you have your vehicle's identification number (VIN), you can determine the model year. For manufacturers producing over 500 vehicles annually, a standardized 17-digit VIN is used. The model year is indicated by the 10th character (8th from the right) in the VIN. We can provide a chart showing the corresponding letters or numbers for each model year from 1980 to 2013. For example, in the VIN 1FABP39X6GH100001, the letter 'G' represents the year 1986.
